"Black Swan" showcases the beauty of the suburban riverside suburb of Applecross, Western Australia. It drew much attention when the Original painting hung for several years in a local restaurant. I grew up in the suburb and spent many carefree days paddling around in the river, admiring the beautiful Black Swans, that gave the river its modern-day name. I wanted to encompass all things Applecross - the 3 blacks Swans on a painting within the painting on the wall. The Jacaranda trees that come into bloom in November every year and the Raffles Hotel, painting within the painting - with its Crown Lager logo - the one I remember when I was just a child. The beautiful imaginary house and crystal clear pool, with the elegant lady looking across to the ever changing city.
