This work was inspired by a visit to Nice, France, and a moment of mistaken perception.
From a distance, I thought I saw a person standing on the diving board. As I got closer, I realised it was actually a statue.
The moment stayed with me because of how quickly the imagination can turn a distant shape into something familiar.
